Alien Species - Director's Cut
Directed by Peter Maris
For years we tried to make contact. This wasn’t what we had in mind.
Huge mother-ships from an alien species sneak ominously into orbit around earth. Lethal, bat-winged fighters descend to the planet. Citizens are abducted and homes are destroyed. The invasion has begun. Two deputies transport a pair of prisoners to county jail, along with the sheriff, who has no way of knowing that his town is the target of the first alien attack. They are all stuck in a thunderstorm. Professor Edgar Chambers studies UFOs and knows something extraordinary is happening. He too, with his associates is lost during the violent thunderstorm. They all seek shelter in a nearby cave which turns out to be an elaborate nest built by the aliens including ghoulish human cocoons. The nearby town has turned into a war-zone as the Aliens seek to destroy all human life and build a ground base while the humans trapped in the nest fight for their lives. The professor’s assistant, Carol, and one of the inmates, Paul, manage to get their hands on alien technology and escape. With a secret to destroy attacking space ships using their own technology, there is a change they can stop the alien invasion, for now.
