Pepe, a young upstart, arrives in town, immediately creating hostility when he tries to force the townspeople to change their ways. He seeks refuge in the home of his Aunt Dona Perfecta, only to learn she opposes his liberal ideas more than anyone. Tempers rise, accusation fly, and things become worse when love arises between Pepe and his cousin Rosario. How can Dona Perfecta stand up for what she believes while respecting her nephew’s love for Rosario and his wish to improve life in the village?
