Hard Luck

Trevor "Lucky" O'Donnell, explosive yet charismatic, escapes after seven years in a State Mental Hospital just 88 days before his scheduled release. His escape is instigated by a visit from his childhood sweetheart, Sheryl, where she divulges that his best friend Eric, her brother, is rapidly dying of cancer. Arriving in his hometown in a stolen car, Lucky finds a despairing Eric dying in a hospital room and impulsively they decide to journey to the island where they all spent the best summers of their childhood. Pursued by Sheryl and Eric's father, the Gold Beach Chief of Police and Sheryl’s police officer husband, the threesome desperately attempt to make it to the island. Rediscovering their passion and friendship, they are confronted by the immense realization.
