Rogério and Leonor celebrate their tenth year wedding anniversary with a garden party at their splendid villa on St. Miguel Island of the Azores. The sophisticated hosts sit with Michel (Piccoli) a witty, impertinent seducer of women and his lover, Irene (Papas), an aging Greek actress. The hostess finds herself the target of the charismatic but aging Lothario and her jealous husband tells Michel to leave his house but a strong wind puts an end to outdoor party anyway. Five years later, upon Leonor's insistence, they get together again for a dinner. Bon mots easily fly off all their lips as they converse about the differences between men and women, what is happiness, and offer their opinion about anything under the sun. And then a wild and surprising revelation comes to light in this sparkling film!
