It’s
1959 and the country is on the brink of change from the
idyllic '50's to the turbulent '60's, mirroring the changes
taking place in Maddie, a teenage girl whose on the brink
of adulthood. Living in a boardinghouse with a Claire, a
French war widow and their impromptu family of women, they
aid each other in difficult and joyous times. The women
face choices with pregnancy and abortion, career and marriage
and love and loyalty in this touching coming of age tale.
